Namaskar! Greetings!!

Hello there!

I am Ashmita Acharya. I am a senior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in International Relations and Global Studies (IRG) with a minor in Government. My thematic track is International Security and the Regional Area of Concentration is Asian Studies.

A Seeker of the Truth for Life, I am interested in a range of fields such as poetry, literature, arts, architecture, music, philosophy, photography, food, and traveling. I wonder if my intense craving for knowledge and learning has made me an all-rounder or rather a Jack of All Trades, Master of None!

So far, my writings have been published in Nepal, India, and here in the US. I am passionate about poetry although I also pen fiction and creative non-fiction. I write in English, Nepali, Hindi, and Urdu.

Apart from the shorter works in different magazines, journals, newspapers, and online magazines, I have also published two original complete works/books of my English poetry, a book on Hindi-Urdu poetry, a book on art critique, and a 15-minute read Kindle Romance fiction.

The book on art criticism Art Adventure: Visual Arts (Volume 1) was my first attempt to mingle the knowledge that I gained from academia with my creativity. This blog/website is a similar attempt as well. I have gained totally different and new perspectives from the class on Mobilities. This is a work in progress. As of now, the blog/website will focus only on the general overview of Mobilities in relation to COVID-19 Pandemic and the impact of COVID-19 in the lives of people; including me, of course; and my personal struggles with the issues related to mobility during this chaotic times of our lives.

I would like to thank my Professor for such a great semester and for offering us so much of her expertise. I hope I can do justice to the teachings of my Professors and also to the many Scholars that I got to read and listen to because of this class.

So, let's dive in! A Warm Welcome to this Virtual Space where I am attempting to create a little bit of Mobility of my expressions, thoughts, ideas, and information in these times of Immobility in the Real-Time and Real Space.

Regards,

Ashmita
